If you think there is a profession that can own everybody, think again.
This game is balanced and there is no pure ownage profession. All professions are supporters and together it'll be nice combos together. My two cents Magekiller = Mesmer Pure healer = Monk Farmer/itemfinder = Monk Tank = Warrior Real supporters are: Rangers and Necromancers Those two are not for 1 vs 1. Most of the skills will help you and your team if you're one of these two. Last edited by Paine; Jun 12, 2005 at 12:45 PM // 12:45.. |

Okay, excuse me for saying nOOb, but, well, did you know anything about the game before you bought it? And, there's no way a team of 2 could beat the game alone, so forget of team of two.

It doesn't matter what game you recently came from or what style you're used to play as. The point is that you can't beat the whole game with only 2 players. This isn't like any other crapgame. The best armor isn't always the solution. It's your skill. |

Tough tank to play, at least in comparison to Warrior/Monks or even Warrior/Necromancers. Good luck and know that pretty much every profession adds something to some fight and all are good, BUT to get into non-guild groups without even asking, monk primaries and warrior/monks and even spike damage elementalists are they way to go. i don't understand why people jumped on you man, if i understood correctly you were basically asking what peoples favorite professions were and why...
personally i like a fire earth ele/? or a warr/mesmer both combinations seem to do really well in pve, don't really know about pvp have'nt done too much of that so far. |

I personally like a Smiting Monk/Warrior (although, I seldom use the /W part)
There is no "best profession" it's how you play the game that matters. And as for "supporters". I don't see who is a supporter unless they use healing or spells that work through other players (like blood is power). Otherwise, they aren't supporting anyone but the part... which is what everone in the party does. Since you don't know much about the game. Don't play mesmer. Don't play necromancer. Don't play ranger. Don't play monk. Least of all, a smiter. Because all of those have bad enough names as it is. Go with Warrior, which (notice the spelling of "which") is a strait up "run in and bash things while hoping your armour can take the hits" kind of profession. or Elementalist, which is a "stay far away and damage the crap out of stuff and hope you never have to test out your weakly crap armour". |

The following are important in choosing your PRIMARY class.
Armour The types of runes you can add to your armour. But mostly it's a case of what you like doing most (hacking/casting...) Elementalist: Mana pool, Ether renewal (after ascension) Can boost damage spells with runes. Monk: Divine Favour Blessed Signet (Energy gain if enchantment based build). Healing, Divine boon, etc. Divine spirit (10 secs of divine boon spam). Ranger: Armour Expertise Tends to become tied to his bow. Throw Dirt Marksman???s Wager/Practised Stance (Elites) Whirling Defense/Lightning Reflexes (but both only 10 or 18 each 60 secs). Warrior: Armour and absorption runes. Flourish ??? recharge and mana regen, no known location to get and pretty poor. Mesmer: Nice looking Armour. Necro: Soul reaping |

I love my Ele/War, but mostly because everyone says they suck. I'm here to prove them wrong.

Necromancers are really fun, i haven't found a good secondary profession though for my necro, i wan't something thats kinda useful. If your a Necro good pvp skills would be Lingering Curse (remove all enchantments, foe only benefits from one half of the healing) Malign Intervention (20% less healing benefit, spawns a bone horror if foe dies with this) and varetas gaze takes the minion. While you hex it, you can have an elementalist nuke the heck out of your target.
